Tullogher Rosbercon LGFA club was set up on the 17th of January 2017. It all started when a teacher from Kerry arrived in Kilkenny to teach the children of Listerlin National School. She decided to enter a primary schools girls football team for the first time ever in this club, even though none of these girls had ever played football before. The girls’ primary school’s football team went on that year to win the county final in Roinn D in November of 2016.

As soon as the football year had finished in school, the girls wanted to stay playing football. A meeting was held in December of 2016 with the parents and the girls to see what they could do to set up a club. The club was officially formed in January of 2017 and they never looked back. Our Facebook page was set up in December to inform all of our local girls of the new club in their parish. In our first year, although we only had about 40 members, we managed to get teams at u10, u12, u14 and adult level. We went on to win an u12 league, an u14 league, got to the semi-final of the Kilkenny Féile competition and also won the Roinn C primary schools girls football the following year in November of 2017.

Every year since then the club has gone from strength to strength, with currently over 60 members who compete in many age groups up to and including minor. As a club, we love combining our sports between camogie and football and we think there is room for both. Our committee are progressive with moving our club forward and are looking forward to their exciting plans for the upcoming years
